if you don't come to meetup...
To lots of us, pdx0 has always been about meeting up in the physical world. But we know there are folks who hang around our online spaces without ever joining us in person.
If you're one of those people, we want to hear from you. How come you don't come around? Is it the location or timing, are we too scary, or is it something else entirely?
What can we do to make it easier or more welcoming?
We do actually want to meet you. Well, I do, at least. Let us know how we can make that happen.

I don't have a good reason,
I don't have a good reason, personally. Well, actually when you were meeting at the hideaway, I had the good intentions to come, but kept forgetting or having other things, etc. etc. And then when I did have time in early summer, you were moving locations each week, and I don't think I had enough notice, because I was never quite sure where to go. And with having to plan by bike or bus, it became too burdensome for me, so I gave up.
Lame, I know, but that's my story.
I'm trying to make sure that
I'm trying to make sure that I remember to sticky the meat-up info every week to the top of the site.
Also, when we are on a moving schedule it is likely that I will design a static schedule image, so don't rely on pulling in RSS data always.
Hope that helps :]

I've wanted to be part of your super-awesome club for a while, but 7PM is actually too early for me. The earliest I could show up would be about 9PM, and I'm WAY too much of a spaz to ever bring myself to show up 2 hours late to ANYTHING, especially when I don't know anyone there. Yeah. so that's my excuse.
Now, I'm going to assume you'll all rearrange your lives to fit my schedule. ;)

Lots of people don't even show up til 9, I wouldn't worry about it :3
Sometimes we migrate to drinking quarters if the meetup isnt at a bar, so make sure to check up on where we are at :)
yay
That's good to know. Maybe I'll work up the courage to make an appearance soon.
I know I show on occasion...
But I guess the main reason that I don't come nearly every week is because I'm not particularly keen on sitting in a bar drinking. I want activities! I know, I know...activities happen on the weekend. But sadly, I can never make it to those. :{
once i get more time i would
once i get more time i would like to create more outings like the one i did at the wytch castle but of a more surreal nature and at more frequent intervals. but it all depends on if time permits me.
summer school
it sucks cause you all finally started meating in a location i could goto and then summer school started and has done a pretty good job of keeping me trapped in my house. but school is almost done with for the summer so i will hopefully start heading to the meet ups again.
when the meet ups were in a bar they were hard for me to go since melody couldnt join. i would prefer a coffee shop over a bar and enjoyed the more relaxed enviroment where we could sit and talk for hours spun on coffee.
Timing
Replying to a terribly old thread because I have nothing better to do.
I typically don't come because my available evenings out are almost always Sunday-Wednesday, and never the cool days like Friday or Saturday.
a web application for this very purpose...
perhaps should be posted on front page :

Hmmm
Funny you mention this. I've stopped in to lurk a few times since this group was still on livejournal(at least I think this is the same group).
I may have even met some a while back when I went to the 6/6/06 event at the local OTO lodge(never actually attended such an event before then).
Personally, I'm simply one of those people that seems to pathologically invent reasons to stay home. That coupled with the fact that I tend to find most people distasteful or uninteresting.
Now that I am jobless at the moment, I'm finding a bit more inclination towards socializing, and you folks seem upon first glance to be neither distasteful nor uninteresting.
High five!
Oh and, the "hack at each other with swords" meetings caught my interest, I'm kind of somewhat almost a saber fencer. I'll most likely be at the next one.
Anti-Social Misanthropists Unite! Oh, wait a sec...

Heh heh, it would seem that I experience this same phenomenon
Indeed. I've even exchanged
Indeed.
I've even exchanged emails with you on craigslist for a brief time regarding that subject.
Hello again.
The boy that can pick locks?
Rock on! I left Portland some time ago.
